Coming Soon...

A preview of Christina’s freelance design work 2021 will be coming soon…

Graphic Designer for Beanbag Books

Christina Dresdow was commissioned to design personalized greeting cards and bookmarks to give away to customers and supporters at Beanbag Books, the independent bookstore in downtown Delaware, OH. Check out a few samples of the finished products below.

SENIOR SHOWCASE 2020

Christina Dresdow was a part of the Ohio Dominican Senior Showcase. She carefully researched and created a series of 10 graphically designed posters that illustrate the relationship between science and art as well as a brochure technology guide. Her posters would originally have been 24″x 36″ and displayed as vinyl on the walls of Wehrle Gallery at Ohio Dominican University, and the brochure would have been handed out to patrons at the gallery. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the in-person show was canceled and her work was featured virtually on Ohio Dominican’s website: https://www.ohiodominican.edu/future-students/student-life/the-arts-at-odu/Wehrle/2020-senior-exhibition as well as Instagram @wehrlegallery and on Wehrle Gallery’s Facebook page. Below are her posters in the ordering in which they would have been hung in the gallery.

PUBLISHED WORK

Christina has had two pieces of artwork published in Ohio Dominican University’s Anthology: Gesture, Volume 17.

PRO BONO WEBSITE DESIGN WORK FOR THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY SOCIAL WORK

The International Association of Veterinary Social Work (IAVSW) is an organization that focuses on community and the human connection of animal related veterinary social work. As a part of an Independent Study class at Ohio Dominican University, Christina worked closely with her professor and the clients of IAVSW to set up a new website for IAVSW to be able to input their new content as their organization takes off. She also created a carefully designed step-by-step guide for the client to follow to implement their content into the website. Furthermore, she worked closely with her professor on concept designs for the new logo for IAVSW.

PRO BONO DESIGN WORK FOR LOCAL OHIO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

The Zone is a non-profit organization in Columbus, OH, that strives to help the greater Hilltop area, specifically teens and elderly of the community. As a part of a class at Ohio Dominican University, Christina worked with a creative team of fellow graphic design students to create a pro-bono design package for The Zone. She and her teammates revamped the main logo, developed four program logos, and created vehicular signage for a transportation service provided by The Zone. Christina also managed the re-designing production of the brochure to detail the programs offered by The Zone and create an outreach to the community to expand their donor and volunteer base.

BRAND DESIGN PACKAGE

As a part of the Brand Design class at Ohio Dominican University, Christina learned the development steps of a brand design package. Over the course of a semester, Christina worked to create a branding design package for a fictional company: All Things Rabbit. The package includes the following: a style guide, business cards, postcards, both digital and print advertisements, thank you cards, envelopes, a letterhead, a billboard design, a storefront design, as well as ephemera and vehicular signage.

REDESIGNED BOOK COVER AND MANUAL

In one of the introduction design classes at Ohio Dominican University, one of the projects Christina completed was to redesign a book cover to cohesively incorporate themes from the book and display a carefully organized design. Another project in that class was to redesign a manual. Christina cut down this particular manual from a five page booklet filled with wordy confusing text to a precise one page, front and back design so as to clearly and concisely get the message across.

GRAPHICALLY DESIGNED COLORING PAGES

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Senior Show class of 2020 put together a special Ohio Dominican University Senior Exhibition’s Quarantine Coloring Book. Using a combination of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign, Christina contributed 5 drawings featuring inspirational quotes about art.

FROM PHOTOS AND FINE ART TO GRAPHIC DESIGN – CARDS & ILLUSTRATION

What is design without a basis in fine art? Christina has always enjoyed drawing and illustration. As shown below, she has, at times, merged her knowledge of fine art and illustration with graphic design: from comic strips to custom cards (gratis work).

GRATIS WORK ON CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATION PACKAGE

Christina designed custom wedding invitations, rsvp cards, and a wedding brochure for a Lord of the Rings themed wedding.

GRATIS WORK ON CUSTOM INVITATIONS AND HEADERS

Working closely with her clients, Christina has created several gratis pieces including an invitation and poster for a local church, a custom graduation announcement, and a Graduate student’s project header.
